Who can apply?
If eligible, your child can receive up to 15 hours of childcare per week, for up to 38 weeks of the year.
You can apply if you receive at least one of the following:
Income Support
Income based Jobseekers Allowance
Income related Employment and Support Allowance
Child Tax Credits or Working Tax Credits and have an annual gross earnings of no more than £16,190
Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
The guarantee element of State Pension Credit
Universal Credit
Two year old Looked after Child
Two year old child with a current statement of SEN or an Education, Health Care Plan
Two year old child with Disability Living Allowance
Two year old child who has left care through special guardianship or through an adoption or residence order
When could my child start?
If you receive a place, your child can start their free childcare the term after their 2nd birthday.

How do I apply?
Complete this application form. Don't panic - Childrens Centre's and health visitors can help if you need it.
Once you have completed the form click Submit.
If you are eligible, we will send you a letter to take to your chosen childcare provider. We will also send you a list of approved childcare providers.
The Family Information Service can also help you find a childcare provider to suit your needs and answer any questions you may have. You can contact them by phone on 0300 300 8585 or email

Take your letter to your chosen provider - they will let us know if you have taken the place
